Maundy Thursday (April 17)

Holy Eucharist with optional foot washing in imitation of Jesus at the Last Supper.
This service commemorates primarily Jesus blessing bread and wine and serving them to his disciples, with the mandate to continue. Such practice we have had in Christianity ever since. The foot washing is offered for those who like to share it. We conclude the service by moving any reserved sacrament to the chapel altar, leaving the main aumbry open, empty, and bare. We darken the church except for the altar candles by the reserved sacrament in the chapel.
The church remains open for those wishing to keep vigil. This begins at 6:15PM and continues as signed up for until midnight.
To sign up to keep vigil, please use the clipboard after our Wednesday service or contact us here (stlukeschester@gmail.com) stating the time period you would like to offer.
